    Procedure for Setting a Water Meter on an Existing Water Service, for Projects with an Executed Water and/or Sewer Service Agreement

    Once a water service line is in place, you must have a water meter set at your property in order to receive water service from the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department. 

    Note: All water and/or sewer facilities installed as per the service agreement must be fully conveyed in accordance with the terms and conditions of the service agreement before any water meters can be set.

    In order for WASD to set a water meter, you must first submit the following documents and information to the WASD New Business Office at either the LeJeune building, 3575 S. LeJeune Road (south of US-1) or the Miami-Dade Permitting and Inspection Center (MDPIC) at 11805 SW 26 Street in west Miami-Dade:

    Property Owner's Information:

    • Name
    • Mailing address
    • Daytime Phone Number

    Property Information:

    • Project Name
    • Project Address
    • Service Agreement ID number
    • A legal description of the property
    • The folio number(s) of the property (this can be obtained by searching the County's property records at on the Property Appraiser's website
    • sewage flow allocation letter Adobe PDF from the Miami-Dade Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) OR a septic tank approval letter from the Miami-Dade Department of Health (DOH)
    • Please note that if the project is anything other than a single-family home, you must also submit a copy of the approved building construction plans and a copy of the building permit. 
    • The appropriate fee; fees are calculated at time of request
