Please note: the following information is for making a New, First-Time physical connection to the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department's (WASD) water system.  If the property you are responsible for has had water service in the past (in other words, it is already physically connected to the water system) and you simply need to open an account for water service under your name, please contact Customer Service at 305-665-7488. 

If you are changing a property's previous type of use (example: building multiple residential units on land that was previously zoned for single family use), please note the following: in addition to any permits you would require for making the proposed change, as well as all of the items listed below, WASD would need the sewage flow allocation letter  from the Miami-Dade Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) to reflect any additional gallonage demand created by the change. WASD will determine if the water main fronting the property is of sufficient size for the additional gallonage demand and if it provides complete property frontage. 

In order to obtain a new water service installation (connection to water main) from an existing water main abutting your property, you must submit the following documents and information to the WASD New Business Office at either the LeJeune building, 3575 S. LeJeune Road (south of US-1) or the Miami-Dade Permitting and Inspection Center (MDPIC) at 11805 SW 26 Street in west Miami-Dade:

Property Owner's information:

• Name
• Social Security number or Federal Tax Identification number
• Mailing address
• Daytime Phone Number

Property Information:

• Project Address
• An original property boundary survey, signed and sealed by a Professional Land Surveyor (P.L.S.) or a Professional Surveyor and Mapper (P.S.M.)
• Current and proposed property zoning designation
• Type and/or number of units to be constructed Schedule of Daily Rated Gallonage 
• A sewage flow allocation letter from DERM OR a septic tank approval letter from the Miami-Dade Department of Health (DOH)
• The folio number(s) of the property (this can be obtained by searching the County's property records at on the Property Appraiser's website
• Connection fees are calculated at time of request.
