Pre-Construction Information (For Projects with Executed Service Agreements)

Requesting a Pre-Construction Meeting with Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department for a Project with an Executed Water and/or Sewer Service Agreement
If you wish to request a pre-construction meeting with WASD on a project that includes an executed water and/or sewer service agreement, please note you must do so at least 48 hours (two business days) in advance of the time and date you desire.

Procedure for Projects Within or Along State Roads (For Projects with Executed Service Agreements)
Projects that will take place within or along any State road require a permit from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) before any work is allowed.  This is in addition to any other permits required before work can be done.

Requesting Re-Platting/Permanent Closure of Roads with Existing Water and Sewer Infrastructure
If there is existing water and sewer infrastructure in an area you wish to re-plat-to include the permanent closure of roads wherein the water and sewer infrastructure is contained-you must submit the following documents and information to WASD.

    Construction or Floating Meters
A construction, or floating meter, is similar to the standard water meter used at most residences and places of business to measure the water used.  However, unlike a standard meter, a floating meter is not attached or fixed to a specific site-it is portable (hence the term "floating").

    Construction Contracts
To be eligible to bid on construction contracts with the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department, you must be licensed to perform the specified type of work in Miami-Dade County.

    Excavations
A Miami-Dade County Ordinance passed in August 2000 includes a provision requiring that the boundaries of all proposed excavations of 1,000 feet or less--including do-it-yourself jobs-be marked with a white water-based paint. (see further explanation below)
