Miami-Dade County to conduct joint project to demonstrate "Florida-Friendly" gardening

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer (WASD) and Consumer Services Departments and the Florida Yards & Neighborhoods Program, in partnership with Boy Scout Troop 711, are teaming up to demonstrate to Miami-Dade residents how to create a “Florida-Friendly” garden on Saturday, August 9th at 8 a.m.

Florida-Friendly gardening involves the use of native, drought-tolerant plants, grouping plants together by watering needs and other landscaping practices that encourage the wise use of water, minimal use of fertilizers and pesticides, and reduce waste.
