Welcome to the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD)

Volunteers are needed on Saturday, August 9th, to help renovate an existing demonstration landscape at the South Dade Government Center. You can help your community and learn about creating a Florida-Friendly Landscape.

Come join us as we work together with Joseph Speigel, Eagle Scout Candidate, Troop 711, Consumer Services Florida Yards & Neighborhoods, and Miami-Dade Water & Sewer, to renovate this landscape, starting at 8 a.m. Please confirm your participation by calling Barbara McAdam at 305-248-3311, extension 245.

The 20-year Water Use Permit requires WASD to develop alternative water supply sources. The Permit ensures water will be available for Miami-Dade County’s needs and lays the groundwork for very ambitious capital improvements over the next two decades.

The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department’s (WASD) application for a 20-year Consumptive Use Permit (CUP) has been approved by the Governing Board of the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD).  The CUP allows WASD to draw water from the Biscayne and Floridan aquifers to serve Miami-Dade County’s drinking water needs.
