    Metrobus Information

    Metrobus offers countywide service from Miami Beach to West Miami-Dade and from the Middle Keys to the southern portion of Broward County. All buses are wheelchair accessible. In addition, Metrobus connects with Metrorail and Metromover. With over 1031 buses, 107 Metrobus routes travel over 41 million miles per year. Several routes operate 24 hours a day.     Hours of Operation
    Several bus routes operate 24 hours a day, and three routes provide overnight service between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. See individual route schedules for hours of operations.
     
    A Sign Marks the Bus Stop
    Always wait for Metrobus at the bus-stop sign.  Bus routes and bus destinations are usually listed.  For your safety, buses stop only at designated bus stops. 

    When the bus nears your stop, look for the route name and destination on the bus display sign above the windshield.  A number, name/letter, or both identify most bus routes. Some trips within the same route serve only a portion of that route. These routes are called short turns. A number attached to a letter (Example: 22A) identifies short-turn routes. Other routes may have a number and name, such as 51 Flagler MAX or 202 Little Haiti Connection.It is important to check the display sign to be sure the bus is traveling to your destination. Have your exact fare, token, transfer ticket, Golden Passport, Patriot Passport, or Metropass ready. Allow passengers in wheelchairs and any passenger with a physical disability to board or exit first.
     
    Paying Your Fare
    For easy riding, use a token or a Metropass. Enter the front door and deposit the exact amount in the fare box, or give your transfer to the bus operator. If you plan to transfer to another bus or Metrorail, pay an additional 50¢ and ask the bus operator for a transfer ticket. Click here for transit fares and transfers.

    On the Bus
    Seats in the front of the bus directly behind the operator and next to the door should be offered to senior citizens and people with disabilities.  Be sure to remain behind the yellow (or white) safety line, and use the handrails for support.  Avoid standing or sitting in the stairwells. When seated, keep your arms, legs, and personal items out of the aisles.

    For the safety and comfort of everyone, playing radios, cassette tapes, CDs, etc. without earphones; smoking; eating; drinking; and animals (except guide dogs) are not allowed on buses or trains.
      
    To Stop the Bus

    To signal the operator, just pull the cord, or push the stop button or tape, one block before your stop. The tape is located between the windows and above the windows and rear door in some buses.  The cord runs along the window in most minibuses. The button is on the vertical pole in newer buses. Large push buttons are also located in wheelchair spaces. Wait for the bus to come to a complete stop.  Exit the bus through the rear door whenever possible.

    In a Metrobus Emergency
    Each bus is radio-equipped for communications with Metrobus Central Control. In an emergency, remain calm and notify the bus operator immediately. The operator will assist passengers and call for help if needed.
