A public meeting was held on March 25, 2008 to present the final design of the Project. This meeting informed the public of the architectural design highlights, station area plans, rail alignment, and public involvement opportunities.

Informational Meeting for General Contractors & Subcontractors

The purpose of the meeting was to present the upcoming construction contract procurement for the Orange Line – Phase 1: Miami Intermodal Center (MIC)/Earlington Heights Connector. The proposed construction bid will be advertised in March 2008. The estimated construction cost is approximately $290 million. Construction is scheduled to begin by late 2008 and is estimated to be completed by late 2011. The project consists of 2.4 miles of elevated dual track guideway, one Metrorail station at the MIC, and a bus terminal plaza. The meeting presentation covered the alignment, station, systems engineering, guideway structure, and track work. Information was provided on right-of-way status, project schedule, insurance, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goals.
