    Bike & Ride

Bike and Ride logo Bike and ride anytime on Metrobus. All buses are equipped with bicycle racks. Check the bus routes list to plan your trip.

Always remove all loose objects from your bike before the bus arrives. No Bike & Ride permit is needed to ride Metrobus with your bike. Mount your bike on the rack attached to the front of the bus (each rack holds two bikes), board the bus, pay your fare, and continue your trip in air-conditioned comfort. As the bus approaches your stop, let the operator know you have to unload your bike. Exit through the front door.

    Wait at the Bus Stop
Remove loose items to prepare your bike for loading. Flag down a rack-equipped bus, and wait until the bus comes to a complete stop. No Bike & Ride permit is needed. Note: On occasion, a bus may arrive with an occupied, missing, or out-of-service bicycle rack. If so, please wait for the next bus.

    Lower the Bike Rack
Each rack holds two bikes. To mount your bicycle on the rack, squeeze the silver rack handle up with one hand to release the latch. Carefully lower the rack.

    Load Your Bike
Place your bike into the "front" and "rear" slots. If yours is the first bike on the rack, mount it in the slots nearest the front of the bus.

    Secure Your Bike
Raise the bike support arm over the front wheel as far as possible. The arm must rest on the tire, not the fender.

    Board the Bus
Once on the bus, pay your fare to continue your trip. As the bus approaches your stop, let the operator know you must unload your bike. Exit through the front door. To unload, release the support arm and lift the bike from the rack. If the rack is empty, squeeze the silver handle to return the rack to the upright or closed position.
