On November 18, 2009, Miami-Dade County held its 2nd Annual Transit Summit in the Miami-Dade County Commission Chambers. Residents shared their ideas about the future of public transportation, while Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Alvarez, members of the Board of County Commissioners and other County officials provided an update on the status of important transit projects.
The summit proved that interest in Miami-Dade’s transit future remains very strong. Hundreds participated in person, while many more watched the summit live on Miami-Dade TV or via the simultaneous webcast and called in or submitted their comments through an online feedback form.
