In addition to fees and insurance requirements, Ground Transportation companies are required to provide additional information.All applicants are required to provide a copy of the occupational license for the county in which they reside.

All applicants are required to provide a copy of their current PMC (Public Motor Conveyance) which covers vehicles up to 22 passengers. Please note that in Miami-Dade County, PMC’s are strictly required if doing any type of business within the county.

Vehicles between 1-11 passengers must provide a copy of the For Hire Certificate.

For vehicles over 22 passengers, a copy from the USDOT of the ICC certification or Division of Motor Safety certificate must be provided.

In addition to the annual permit fee established above, Ground Transportation companies shall be subject to the following per trip fees for each vehicle.  These trip fees will be billed to the ground transportation companies via S-1 forms, which are provided upon entering the port and collected at the designated locations.  These forms must be properly filled out.  Failure to provide the S-1 forms or falsifying them is a violation of the Seaport rules and regulations and will result in the cancellation of the Seaport permit and all associated identification cards.

Rental car companies conducting business activities at the Port of Miami-Dade but not operating under a non-exclusive license agreement with the Port shall be assessed a percentage of the gross revenues arising from such activities at an annual rate of 8%.  Business activities for rental car companies include, but are not limited to, the pick-up of passengers via courtesy vehicles for transportation to rental car facilities off the Port.
