Disc Golf at Kendall Indian Hammocks Park

Bored with just throwing a frisbee around? Try disc golf, which combines the agility of an airborne frisbee with the strategy and shot-making of golf.

Kendall Indian Hammocks Park  has a new 18-hole disc golf course, laid out on the eastern end of the park. Players use a competitive frisbee or disk, which can soar up to 400 feet with each toss. They aim for the "hole," low posts supporting a three-foot chain basket. As with regular golf, there are varying yardages from each tee, and the object is to have your disc land in the basket. The only equipment you'll need is a regular or competition frisbee, and a pencil to record your score.

Disc golf is easy and fun. Kendall Indian Hammocks, with its wealth of shady trees and stretches of open meadow, is ideal for this entertaining new sport. There are only four disc golf courses in all of South Florida, and Kendall Indian Hammocks has the only complete 18-hole facility in Miami-Dade County. To learn how you can play at the park, call 305-596-9324.

Amelia Earhart Park  also offers a Disc golf course.

Miami-Dade Parks welcomes children and adults with disabilities in its disc golf facility. If you need accommodation to participate, call 305-755-7848 (V/TDD).Accessibility Symbol
