Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Citizens Advisory Committee
Purpose
The Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Citizens Advisory Committee (PRCAC), mandated by Miami-Dade County, was created June 9, 1994, to enable local citizens to make recommendations to improve and promote parks facilities and programs in Miami-Dade County.
Composition
The PRCAC is composed of 27 members as follows:
- Each County commissioner appoints two members for a total of 26
- One member will be the chairperson of the Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces and Arts Committee of the Board of County Commissioners (BCC).
Terms
Members cannot serve more than eight consecutive years and their term coincides with the tenure of the appointing commissioner.
Qualifications
Appointees are residents of Miami-Dade County who possess outstanding reputations for civic pride, interest, integrity, responsibility, and business or professional ability in the fields of recreation, natural resources, conservation, and land use planning.
