Pelican Harbor is a great "in-town" marina where you can cruise the intracoastal for great shopping or dining or head out to sea with great ocean access at either Haulover Inlet or Government Cut. Pelican Island, a nature preserve and bird sanctuary, is just 400 yards offshore. You can take your boat or a marina water-taxi to the beautiful 10-acre island, which has "chickees"--open huts with thatched roofs, barbecue grills, picnic tables and a sand volleyball court (bring your own net and ball). The island is open to the public and can be reserved for large groups.
Approach from Sea: Located midway between Government Cut and Haulover Cut, at ICW St. Mile 1084, just north of the 79th Street Causeway Bascule Bridge on the east side of the ICW. At ICW Marker "25" turn east into the marina basin.
