    The Miami-Dade County Parks and Open Space System Master Plan vision includes a system of parks connected to neighborhoods by greenways and multi-use trails.  The Model Cities Bike Path is an eight-foot wide existing asphalt trail built in the late 1970s, beginning at the intersection of NW 79th Street and NW 19th Avenue, and ending at Marva Y. Bannerman Park and Pool, NW 48th Terrace and NW 24th Avenue.  It runs for 2.65 miles in a north-south direction, and allows residents to walk, bike, or skate to parks. 

    The Model Cities Bike Path connects directly to six county Parks: Marva Y. Bannerman Park and Pool, Olinda Park, Joseph Caleb Community Center, Partners Park, African Heritage Cultural Arts Center, and Gwen Cherry Park.
