    Miami-Dade Parks 2010 Summer Camps

    Overview
The Miami-Dade Parks Fit to Play, Green it Up Summer Camps program will run daily for 10 weeks this summer from June 14 - August 20, and it will close with our annual end-of-summer camps bash.

    > Summer Camps Online Brochure

Our day camps are open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with 7:30 a.m. early drop-off and 6:00 p.m. late pick-up. The camps are convenient, safe and managed by highly trained recreation professionals.

SwingingMost of our camps have rolling registration, so you can enroll your child for a week or several weeks at any time throughout the summer, but you must register at least one week prior to your desired start date in some cases. Call the park campsite of your choice in advance to find out if they can accommodate your registration and scheduling needs. Costs vary, and you should ask your park manager about our financial assistance program for those who qualify. Our popular camps fill up quickly, so call today!

Fit To PlayOur Fit to Play, Green it Up theme means that in addition to fun-and-games, sports and entertainment, your children will participate in daily exercise and nutrition-education activities, while discovering new ways to "go green." Together with our partner-sponsors at the University of Miami Health System (UHealth) and UM Miller School of Medicine medical students, the kids will learn how to live a healthy lifestyle, because studies show that a fit child typically grows up to become a healthy adult. Striving to develop eco-conscious children that care for the environment they live in, we will also teach campers how a healthy planet is essential for a healthy life, too. Kids will take the Green Pledge, learn the basics of recycling and conservation, and other eco-friendly activities.

At Miami-Dade Park & Recreation, we strive to create outstanding Recreational, Natural, and Cultural experiences to enrich you and enhance the quality of life for our community for this and future generations-and we are dedicated to serving you and your family.
