The Vision Council, a group of leaders, strategists and thinkers, who will be gathering for the next few months to offer recommendations for meeting Miami-Dade County's social services needs through 2025. The Vision Council is a partnership between my office and the YMCA of Greater Miami.
The Council brings people to the table to share valuable insight into our community's needs as well as its resources. Their report will be instrumental in assisting the YMCA and, by extension, other community based organizations prepare for some of the emerging issues, challenges and opportunities our facing our community. It could potentially create partnerships and leverage resources to better serve families and individuals in need.
Maximizing resources to better serve Miami-Dade County's residents is one of our top priorities. My office is particularly interested in the results of the Vision Council's work to further our Community Economic Development Initiative efforts in helping community based organizations develop strategies and plans that will make them stronger partners in addressing social needs.
The YMCA has enlisted the services of Tom Massey, CEO of Triangle2 Partners, who has more than 25 years of management and professional experience consulting with more than 80 organizations in the social sector. He has successfully led similar efforts in New York City, Houston, Charlotte, Jacksonville, Tampa and other major cities.
