(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- The Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Alvarez Mortgage Fraud Task Force held its second meeting, on November 7, 2007, at the Stephen P. Clark Government Center. In addition to updates from the law enforcement, legislative, regulatory, business partnerships and public education committees, Harvey Ruvin, Miami-Dade County Clerk of the Courts, made a presentation about the Clerk of the Courts’ efforts to combat mortgage fraud.
“In the coming months, you will see more fraudulent mortgage brokers, title agents, attorneys, appraisers and others brought to justice,” said Mayor Alvarez. “Through the Mortgage Fraud Task Force, a concerted effort is being made and additional resources are being brought to the table to help put a stop to this epidemic. “
The Mortgage Fraud Task Force is chaired by Glenn Theobald, Chief Counsel of the Miami-Dade Police Department, and made up of law enforcement officials, prosecutors, business leaders, elected officials and other public servants.
