This Labor Day we honor our nation's workforce. We honor firefighters and police officers who put their lives on the line for our safety; public servants who work hard to deliver quality programs and services; teachers who shape young minds and open new worlds for young people; doctors and nurses who save lives every day; tourism industry workers who are our "face" to visitors; and many others.

Ancient Greek playwright Sophocles said, "Without labor nothing prospers." As we enjoy Labor Day weekend and mark the official end of summer, let us be mindful of the contributions and achievements of American workers.
