How do I Apply?
Because there are so many families who need affordable rental housing, the fairest way for housing authorities to select families is through a waiting list. Applicants for Miami-Dade Public Housing Agency's subsidized rental housing programs are placed on a ranked waiting list compiled using a lottery-like system. There is a single application for project-based units (Public Housing, Moderate Rehabilitation and Section 8 New Construction) and tenant-based units (Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher)
Open registration for the 2008 Waiting List is currently closed. Selections for eligibility interviews are in progress. All of the names of applicants who completed the online registration between July 1-31, 2008 have been entered into an electronic lottery in which a computer randomly selected the applicant names and assigned them two ranking positions, one for the Public Housing, Moderate Rehabilitation and Section 8 New Construction programs and another one for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program. For more information visit the frequently asked questions or call 305-638-6464. Please be advised that there is never an application fee for our housing programs.

How do I receive Housing Assistance?

Once selected you will be scheduled for a preliminary interview. For tips on how to expedite the process visit the preliminary interview page.
After the preliminary interview, you may receive a housing offer within thirty (30) days or may be denied housing assistance. If you have been denied housing and would like to exercise your right to an informal hearing, you must submit an Informal Hearing Request form . Updating information on your application
After the application period is over you can submit changes to your application. If your address or family size has changed, the head of household can complete a Change of Address or a Change of Family Size form and submit it to the Applicant Leasing Center.
