Description: An erect, evergreen tree, rough bark with long spreading branches. The fruit is borne in clusters, brown to brownish-green, pulp is white to translucent, very sweet with a single black seed. Fruit matures from August to September. The flesh is whitish, translucent and somewhat musky- sweet.
Size: Large tree (30-40 ft) Can be pruned to keep size smaller and fruit accessible.
Location: Plant at least 30 feetfrom power lines and 16-22 feet from your house.
Salt tolerance:Low.
Watering: Water during planting and for one year thereafter (see watering schedule in “Dig In Miami-Dade County” booklet). May need to water during fruiting if under drought conditions.
Fertilization:Do not fertilize until 6 months after planting. Call 305-248-3311 ext.228 for fertilizing information specific to your tree.
Pruning: Wait one year to prune.
