Size: Large, typically 40 ft.
Location: Plant at least 30 feet from power lines, and 16-22 feet from your house. Requires full sun. Plant away from open bodies of water.
Salt tolerance: High.
Watering: Water during planting and for one year thereafter (see watering schedule in "Dig In Miami-Dade County" booklet). Usually doesn't need additional watering after one year.
Fertilization: Do not fertilize until 6 months after planting. Contact the Adopt-a-Tree hotline at 305-372-6555 for fertilizing information specific to your tree.
Pruning: Wait one year to prune if it is needed. Remove tree stake after planting.
