Description: Fast-growing evergreen tree. Produces fragrant, showy yellow flowers in the spring and summer. Seedpods turn to an attractive wine-brown color. Subject to wind damage.
Size: Large (typically 30-45 ft in height)
Location: Plant at least 30 feet from power lines and 16-22 feet from your house. Full sun.
Salt tolerance: Medium
Watering: Water during planting and for one year thereafter (see watering schedule in "Dig In Miami-Dade County" booklet). May need to water during fruiting if under drought conditions.
Fertilization: Do not fertilize until 6 months after planting. Call 305-248-3311 ext.228 for fertilizing information specific to your tree.
Pruning: Wait one year to prune. If staked, remove after 6 months.
