Have you seen a Lionfish (Pterois volitans ) offshore of Miami-Dade County?

The lionfish is an invasive species identified by its red and white stripes and venomous spines. The dorsal spines along the top of their bodies and feather-like pectoral fins around their sides and underneath are poisonous and can cause serious injury.
Recently, the population of lionfish has been expanding rapidly along the east coast of the United States as well as the Caribbean. They can pose a threat to native marine fisheries and reef habitats.
