The Biscayne Bay Surface Water Quality Monitoring Program is an ongoing routine surface water quality sampling program for Biscayne Bay and its watershed canals. It is managed by Miami-Dade County's Department of Environmental Resources Management.
The program began in 1979 with less than 50 stations and has grown in both size and scope. It presently includes monthly surface water sampling for a variety of physical, chemical, and microbiological parameters at over 105 stations throughout Miami-Dade County.
