    Asbestos Program

The goal of the Asbestos Program is to protect public health by preventing exposure to asbestos, a federally designated hazardous air pollutant. The Asbestos Program regulates the abatement and removal of asbestos from building renovation and demolition projects.

Compliance with federal asbestos regulations is evaluated by the review of renovation and demolition project notifications, evaluation of asbestos site surveys, and the inspection of construction and renovation job sites. Copies of the renovation or demolition notification form are available on our Permit Appplications page.

For more information, please call the Area & Mobile Sources Section at 305-372-6925.
