2008 Bay Cleanup T-shirt Design

Community volunteers at the 2008 Biscayne Bay Cleanup received a commemorative T-shirt* made from 100% recycled materials! These T-shirts were made from "Ecospun" recycled plastic (polyester fiber) and reclaimed cotton.  This unique process used to produce our commemorative shirts is another way in which Baynanza helps to reduce and reuse.

This year's T-shirt design was hand painted by Vicki Gallardo, a student from Glades Middle High.  Her design was selected from thousands of entries from students around the County who participated in the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden challenge.  We would like to congratulate Vickie for her artistic rendition of the Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day and her parents and teachers for fostering her talent.

A special thanks goes to the staff at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden for organizing the 2008 Baynanza T-shirt design contest.
